Water borne pathogens
Sofar infectuous diseases, caused by water borne bacteria, could be cured quite well with antibiotics. Gradually however bacteria have developed a resistance, through the so-called NDM 1 gene, causing inactivity of all known antibiotic drugs. The gene, that makes the bugs highly resistant has been found in bacteria causing cholera (vibrio-cholera bacterium) and dysentery (e.coli bacterium). Found for the first time in drinking water in New Delhi, the germs with this gene have now spread to Europe.
